Description

HRESS is a state-of-the-art system for scanning and monitoring heliports and their boundaries. It is used both to identify obstacles and hazards within the heliport and to provide pilots with up-to-date information regarding the availability of a landing area. The system models the defined area of the heliport and informs interested parties about detected obstacles. It ensures a proactive approach to addressing all types of hazards, significantly increases the safety of operations, and facilitates the management and use of heliport infrastructure.

Taking on the challenge

Due to the requirement for obstacle-free airspace for safe approach and takeoff, the airspace used for landing sites significantly exceeds the area covered by the heliport itself. Nevertheless, regulations do not provide protection for the necessary restriction surfaces, even though they must be secured by the operator or owner of the landing area.
