Description
The CCR (Constant Current Regulator) is a thyristor-based CCR with an analog feedback loop that regulates the current flow through the antiparallel-connected thyristors and operates on the principle of phase control.

A dedicated processor with fixed memory is responsible for overall control and monitoring, as well as the interface, ensuring easy access during installation and maintenance. Only the function keys and an LCD screen are required to perform the self-explanatory setup procedures.
All adjustments and settings (except for tape recording) can be made without tools or an externally connected laptop.
Replacing circuit boards and other components is very easy and takes only a few minutes.
Regulation - Unit Power Factor Load
While supplying any unit load from zero load (short circuit) to full load, the CCR maintains the output current within the limits specified in Table 1. The CCR ensures current regulation across the entire input voltage range from 95% to 110%.
Output Current Peak Limitation
The CCR is equipped with a regulation device that prevents damage to the CCR, activation of a protective device, or current spikes (inrush currents) that could damage series-connected loads when the CCR is switched on or off, when changing current levels, or when short-circuiting the load. When the brightness is changed by switching the current level via local or remote control, no switching spikes greater than an effective 6.7 A occur. The new value stabilizes within the limits specified in Table 1 after a maximum of 500 ms. Under no circumstances does the CCR generate excessively high current spikes that could damage the lamps in the circuit.
Operation
The local control panel with LCD screen complies with the international HMI standard (HMI = Human Machine Interface).
The CCR 665 complies with all international standards, such as ICAO Aerodrome Design Manual, Part 5, Sections 3.2.1.4 to 3.2.1.6, and IEC 61822 - Electrical installations for lighting and beaconing of aerodromes.
Dynamic Response
In the event of sudden load fluctuations exceeding 10% of the load, any potential overcurrent will not last longer than half a cycle. If the peak current during normal operation reaches twice the maximum peak current (i.e., the peak current during a short circuit at maximum current and maximum input voltage), or if the current reaches 125% of the maximum RMS value, the current will be limited to an RMS value of less than 2.0 A after completion of the current half-cycle of the sine wave. This suppression will then continue for another 1 to 4 cycles, after which the current limits specified in Table 1 will be restored within 500 ms or less.
Input Voltage
If the input voltage is between 95% and 110% of the nominal input voltage, the input voltage will be within the specified limits, and the CCR will operate within these limits.
The CCR will operate down to 90% of the nominal input voltage. In this case, the output current levels are not maintained within the permissible ranges specified in Table 1. The CCR is designed to handle short-term voltage spikes of up to 120% and short-term voltage drops down to 80% of the rated input voltage without being disabled or damaged. The CCR can compensate for such voltage fluctuations for 50 ms during one minute.
If the input voltage deviates from an adjustable preset range for more than half a cycle, the CCR will cut the output current. The CCR will automatically return to normal operation (Table 1) when the input voltage returns to 0.5 times the preset range.
Load Matching
The CCR is matched for connected loads between 50% and 100% of the rated load.
For resistive loads in the range of 50% to 100% of the rated load with unit power factor, at rated input voltage and an output current of 100%, efficiency and power factor will not fall below the values defined in the sections above.
Control - Reactive Load
The CCR maintains the current within the limits specified in Table 1 during all current stage switching operations.
Remote Control Interface (Parallel)
The standard voltage source for controlling and monitoring the CCR has a rated voltage of +48 V DC or +24 V DC with negative at MAS.
